Dan Binns

Originally from the North of England, Dan is a director with a strong visual flair, a keen eye for colour, and a passion for blending 2D and 3D to bring his films to life.

After working in a wide range of roles and projects for clients including Disney, the BBC, and Sky, Dan became a regular collaborator at Aardman thanks to his design and animation skills, becoming a director in 2018.

His first directing projects at Aardman included a commercial for Nokia and a short charity film for Alzheimer’s. Dan loves mixing different styles and techniques and whether he’s directing a collection of award-winning mental health shorts in CGI or delivering cool and classy 2D brand work such as his recent commercial for Thatcher’s Cider, his work is always thoughtful, distinctive and visually appealing.
